Diwali in Yokohama is a long-running celebration of the Indian festival of lights, now in its 23rd year. In 2026 it takes place at the Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall (Kaikō Kinen Kaikan), the red-brick hall a minute's walk from Nihon-ōdōri Station, under the banner "India's light shines on Yokohama".

All day, from 11:00 to about 21:30, the other rooms of the hall are open: a Diwali space of light and prayer, mehndi (henna), short talks and exhibits on Indian history, culture and travel, Indian food such as samosa, biryani and chai, Diwali fortune-telling, and carrom, India's much-loved board game, with a small tournament.
